Brighton Marathon 2026

I'm taking part in the Brighton Marathon as part of #TeamStroke

I joined #TeamStroke for the Brighton Marathon 2026.

There are over 1.4 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.

I have a personal attachment with running for Stroke Association as my father had battled with a stroke which had left him paralysed from the neck down.

He was not only my dad, but also my best friend and hero who inspired me in my own life in so many ways. I unfortunately haven't  Been able to share my achievements with him. But I know that he is here in spirit to cheer me on.

This is my second Marathon, having run the 2016 Brighton Marathon, so yes 10 years ago. I intend to train hard and beat my time set from 10 years ago.

We're here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

Training update

Saturday 7th Feb
Another marathon update… yes, I know, I know — you’re all absolutely thrilled to see yet another running post clogging up your feed 🙃

Not a fan of the rain today, so it was treadmill miles instead. Ran slightly faster than my current marathon pace — trying to get quicker now that the distance is finally in the legs. Powered through while watching The Good Doctor, which is basically peak treadmill TV if we’re being honest.

If you’ve made it this far (or even if you’ve been hate-watching these updates), please consider supporting the cause. Every bit helps and keeps me accountable 💙

Reigate Half Marathon

Monday 22nd Sep
Reigate Half Marathon, finished in 1hr 55m — super happy with that as my goal was to go sub-2 hours 🙌. Not quite as quick as I used to run these, but it’s all part of the journey towards next year’s Brighton Marathon 🏅.

This race was a key step in my training and I’m determined to keep building towards an even stronger run in 2026 💪.

I’m fundraising for the Stroke Association, a cause close to my heart. If you’d like to support, please donate here:

Thanks so much for your support 💜

10 years on

Tuesday 1st Jul

Inspired by @sara_mrs89 LDN Marathon. I'm back out running.

In 2016, I ran the Brighton Marathon in cheap Reeboks, basic shorts, and a running vest. Training was a few long runs, fuel was jelly babies, the occasional water stop and strategy? Just keep moving.

Fast forward to 2026 and I will be about to do it all over again, however a bit differently with...
📱 Heart rate monitor via smart watch
👟 Purpose-made Hoka trainers with plantar fasciitis insoles
🦵 Anti-chafing shorts & a breathing-tech vest
🧃 Gels
💧 Camelbak hydration
📈 A full training programme, tailored and tech-powered

This time, I’m running for the Stroke Association. Every mile has a personal meaning and every step for those who need the support from this great organisation.

Same finish line. Whole new journey. 💥
