The Great North Run #ForPaul part of #TeamStroke

I joined #TeamStroke for the Great North Run 2025.

There are over 1.3 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.

Although there is a stroke in the UK every 5 minutes you don’t expect one to happen to you or one of your family members… unfortunately my family took a hard hit when my dad (Paul) had a stroke in September 2021 changing his and our lives, after a short stay of 6 months in hospital at what was a difficult time for the whole world my dad got to come home, Paul is now paralysed on the whole of his right side and has very little speech. 

My dad has the absolute best care team around him and is still the cheeky chap he used to be, I’m taking on this challenge for him as this is a little drop in the ocean compared to the daily challenges he faces every day.
