Running the London Marathon for my Papa & #TeamStroke

I’m running the London Marathon for my amazing Papa and the Stroke association. 

In January 2025, my 87 year-old Papa — who was always 100mph, caring for my Gran and supporting and looking after our whole family — suffered a major stroke. He lost all sensation on his right side, had brain damage and it was unlikely he would be able to walk again.

While he spent six months in hospital and rehab learning to move, and speak again, my Gran sadly passed away. It’s been the hardest year, but Papa has shown incredible strength and determination. Against all odds, he’s now back on his feet — still with no feeling down one side — and continues to inspire me every single day.

The Stroke Association was the first place I turned for guidance and support. The information they provided helped us navigate a frightening and uncertain time. Now I’m running 26.2 miles to raise money so other families can get that same vital support.

Papa has always cheered me on in my running — and this time, I’m running for him.
