I'm taking part in the Great North Run 2026 as part of #TeamStroke
Ive joined #TeamStroke and will be running the Great North Run 2026 in support of the Stroke Association.
Im taking on this challenge for a very personal reason. My oldest brother recently suffered a stroke, and witnessing the physical and emotional impact it has had on him and on our Family has been heartbreaking. It has shown me just how suddenly and devastatingly stroke can change lives.
The Stroke Association provides vital support, funds life-changing research, and offers hope to stroke survivors and their loved ones. By running, I want to turn something incredibly difficult into something positive raising funds and awareness so others can access the same support my brother now needs on his recovery journey.
There are over 1.4 million stroke survivors in the UK, with around 100,000 strokes each year thats one stroke every five minutes.
No one should have to face life after stroke alone. Stroke support is essential in providing consistent, tailored help throughout the long road to recovery.
