I'm taking part in the Royal Parks Half Marathon 2026 as part of #TeamStroke

Working at The Royal Buckinghamshire Hospital in Aylesbury, home to a world leading Stroke rehabilitation centre - I see every day the impact of a Stroke on patients and their friends and families.  Seeing the transformation of patients following rehab is the best part of the job, and raising money for the Stroke association to help preventative research and new rehab treatments in an honour.  In addition to working in a rehab centre both of my Maternal Grandparents suffered Strokes, which is why I have chosen to run The Royal Parks Marathon for the Stroke Association.

There are over 1.4 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.

We're here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.
