I'm taking part in the TCS London Marathon 2027 with #TeamStroke

As some of you may know, on 23rd January 2026, my beautiful, funny, bubbly, full of life mum suffered a severe, life changing stroke.

It came completely out of the blue. Mum was fit, healthy, and full of life, with no warning signs at all, and in an instant, our lives changed forever. Watching someone you love go through something so devastating is something no family can ever truly prepare for.

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. In a matter of moments, lives are changed. But with strength, determination, and the right support, recovery is possible.

One day, my mum woke up and none of us could have imagined that she would have to learn how to swallow, walk, brush her teeth, speak, and do so many other everyday things all over again. Yet every single day, she faces these challenges with incredible courage, resilience, and determination.

I am running the TCS London Marathon 2027 in honour of my mum.

 This marathon is for my mum to honour her strength, celebrate how far she has come, and support others facing the life changing impact of stroke. It is my way of showing my unwavering support for her and my admiration for the determination she continues to show every single day. If she can face the challenges of stroke recovery head on, then I can certainly face 26.2 miles.

By taking on this challenge with Team Stroke, I’ll be fundraising to provide tailored support to tens of thousands of stroke survivors each year, fund vital scientific research, and campaign to secure the best care and support for everyone affected by stroke.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help make a difference to stroke survivors and their families. It will help someone find strength through support at a time when they need it most.
