I'm taking part in the Great North Run 2025 as part of #TeamStroke
I joined #TeamStroke for the Great North Run 2025.
There are over 1.3 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.
The Stroke Association are there to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. Everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke and the Stroke Association work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. They rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.
I am a stroke researcher and I have firsthand experience of how vital fundraising is to continue to improve stroke care via research. Also, the direct support provided to stroke survivors and carers by the Stroke Association is invaluable.

Saturday 23rd Nov I've lived opposite the start line of the GNR for nearly 7 years and always ask myself why I'm not doing it when I hear the incredible atmosphere from inside my flat.
