I'm taking part in the TCS London Marathon as part of #TeamStroke

I joined #TeamStroke for the TCS London Marathon 2026.

There are over 1.4 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.

Something not so widely heard of is childhood stroke which can affect babies (including in the womb), children and young people. Several hundred children are diagnosed with a stroke every year in the UK.

Although it’s very rare, babies can have a stroke in the womb or just after and this is something we have recently experienced.

Soon after our beautiful Daughter Charlotte was born, she was admitted to the NICU and was later diagnosed as having had a perinatal stroke.

Charlottes recovery has been so inspiring and seeing her just grow from strength to strength each day has been amazing. She has an amazing team around her and the best family support to continue her recovery journey and I cannot wait to see her little face watch me cross the finish line!

This is why I am fundraising for a charity that does so much for those affected by stroke no matter what age.
