I'm fundraising for...

Stroke Association is here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

Brighton Marathon 2026

Monday 2nd Feb
I had a stroke in January 2025. I was lucky twice, firstly my partner Kim recognised the symptoms immediately and called 999 and secondly it was early morning and the ambulance arrived within 20 mins. Within 75 mins I was having brain scans at Treliske! For those who know me well there is an area of lasting brain damage that maybe explains some of my "senior" moments!
The stroke made me think and I appreciate how truly lucky I am. The result is that I'm attempting to run 26 miles plus a few yards on April 12 this year in order to raise funds for the Stroke Association to support their great work. Check them out.
Hope you are able to sponsor me.
Note- training does not get easier as you get older.
Thank you
Guy
