Spin for Stroke

I'm taking part in the Spin for Stroke challenge!

I joined #TeamStroke in the Spin for Stroke Challenge.

Stroke Association is here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

Stoke Bruerne ride

Friday 6th Oct
Sorry, forgot to post an update!
Took an afternoon off work on the 16th Sept whilst the weather looked nice and it was wuiet at work.
Got the bike out and headed off towards the canal via Furzton lake.
It was a nice gentle ride at a steady swift pace.
The tow path got busy at Cosgrove and soon usual path turned to single track as I headed out to Stoke Bruerne. at one point I was pushing my way theough brambles!
Met a lovely couple out on their bikes and pointed them in the direction of the Barley Mow.
Continued to the canal museum and decided to cycle on to the far end of Blisworth Tunnel.
Then the same journey back. Had to nurse my legs the last few miles - pretty sure that was due to my saddle position, but made it non the less.

Got in an early morning ride on my day off work

Up early on a day off - whaaaaat!
Yup, all for a 22 mile ride around Milton Keynes.
Kept up decent steady pace with no breaks.
Back in time for breakfast 🍳

1st ride down

Saturday 5th Aug
Day off from work and a circular route around Milton Keynes planned. The route was designed by the Parks Trust and makes use of the redways and linear parks around MK.

Cycled to Furzton Lake, which was the starting point (and end point) and ventured forth.

The route took me through some parts of MK that I’d not seen before. MK is said to be a concrete jungle full of roundabouts, but if you take a look at the pics I barely touched a road or saw people.

Only one part was tricky, an overgrown pathway full of brambles that I almost did not make it out of!

It was a beautiful 40 mile ride.
