I'm taking part in the Great North Run 2026 as part of #TeamStroke

I joined #TeamStroke for the Great North Run 2026.

There are over 1.4 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.

No survivor should have to face life after stroke without stroke support, providing consistent, tailored help on the long journey to recovery. 

We work with the stroke community to ensure the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

I am running for the stroke awareness team as it holds a personal memory which is close to our family’s hearts. Unfortunately my little nana passed away 3 weeks after having a stroke due to the lasting affects. Little nana was a core part of our family who we will all cherish forever and always. Additionally, I am currently working as a HCA ; this involves working along side people who have suffered from such a tragic illness every shift. Seeing there courage and strength is a key factor in encouraging me to raise money for such an amazing cause. 

I am also in the process of training to be a physiotherapist so stroke rehab is something that is very close to my heart.
