I'm taking part in the Great North Run 2026 as part of #TeamStroke

I joined #TeamStroke for the Great North Run 2026.

I have chosen to run for the stroke association due to my Grandma’s experiences as a survivor. Having seen the impact that strokes can have on the survivors and felt the impact on our family. It’s important to me that other survivors and their families have the support they need. I hope my fundraising can help to enable the stroke association to continue their amazing work. Particularly raising awareness around the support required and the importance of rehabilitation for stroke survivors. 

There are over 1.4 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.

No survivor should have to face life after stroke without stroke support, providing consistent, tailored help on the long journey to recovery. 

The stroke association works with communities to ensure people receive the very best care and support. They rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.
