I joined #TeamStroke for the Great North Run 2026.

There are over 1.4 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.

No survivor should have to face life after stroke without stroke support, providing consistent, tailored help on the long journey to recovery.

We work with the stroke community to ensure the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

I’m taking on the Great North Run to raise money for the Stroke Association, a charity that is incredibly close to my heart.

Having had several family members affected by strokes, I’ve seen first-hand the impact they can have on individuals and the people around them. This is why I wanted to take on this challenge and raise money for a cause that means so much to me.

The Stroke Association does amazing work supporting stroke survivors and their families, while also funding important research and raising awareness. Every donation, no matter how much, means so much and will help make a real difference.
