Eve Keith

TCS London Marathon 2025

I'm taking part in the TCS London Marathon as part of #TeamStroke

In October 2021, my mum ( Debbie Keith, age 56) suffered a sudden severe stroke. She was in a coma due to the catastrophic bleed on her brain and then passed away 3 weeks later. Leaving behind myself, my sister Emma, my two brothers Conor and Vincent. Her best friend and sister Jan, my dad and many more.

Nothing could have prepared us for the absolute terror and devastation of losing our mum so young and in such a sudden and unexpected way.  She was all our biggest support and best friend.

She worked selflessly as an adult social worker, constantly putting the needs of others first and teaching her kids how to be as empathetic, kind and loving as her.

I too, believed that strokes only happened to older people however they can happen to anyone and can strike at any time. Changing their and their loved ones lives forever. I am so happy to be running for a charity so close to me that does such amazing things for stroke survivors by giving them the more crucial and effective support and care after becoming so ill.

I started my running journey at the start of 2024 as a way to cope with my mental health, my grief and maintain fitness and health.  I fell in love with it and use it as therapy, it has helped me in so many ways and will continue to.

Any donations would be massively appreciated however small. Thank you so much!

Eve :) x

Hi Eve, we don’t know each other but I’m an old dear friend of Jan, Billie and Shan and met your lovely Mum several times in my childhood. She was such a lovely lady and what you’re doing in her memory is wonderful. As a 2 time London Marathoner myself I know what a huge challenge this both physically and mentally is but I’m sure you’ll smash it as you’ll have your mum with you every step of the way. So happy to donate to this very worthwhile cause in memory of your lovely mum. Take care and good luck!!! X
