Royal Parks Half Marathon 2026

I'm taking part in the Royal Parks Half Marathon 2026 as part of #TeamStroke

I joined #TeamStroke for the Royal Parks Half Marathon 2026.

There are over 1.4 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.

We're here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

I Run 4U

Wednesday 27th May

Stroke has changed my life forever.

It has brought heartbreak, fear, pain, and moments where our world felt like it stopped overnight.

I lost a very close family member to stroke — someone deeply loved and missed every single day. Watching someone you love taken away so suddenly leaves a pain that never truly goes away.

Now, my husband is recovering from a stroke himself.

Seeing the person you love fight through recovery is something words can never fully explain. The fear of not knowing what tomorrow will bring, the emotional and physical struggles, the exhaustion, the tears, and the strength it takes just to keep going every day is heartbreaking to witness.

Stroke does not only affect one person. It affects entire families.

It changes lives in an instant.

A close friend of mine also lost her mum to stroke, and through all these experiences, I realised how many families are silently carrying this same pain, grief, and worry every day.

That is why I have chosen to run.

I am running for the people we have lost.
For the survivors fighting every day to recover.
For the husbands, wives, mums, dads, children, and friends trying to stay strong while watching someone they love suffer.

I am running because no family should ever feel alone in this journey.

Every mile I run carries emotion, memories, heartbreak, hope, and love.

Some people are running marathons for medals.
I am running carrying the faces of the people I love in my heart.

I know what stroke can take away from a family.

I know the fear of hospital rooms, the waiting, the uncertainty, and the helplessness.

I know the heartbreak of grief.

And I know how important support, awareness, rehabilitation, and research truly are.

If sharing our story can help even one family feel supported, raise awareness, or help stroke survivors receive the care they need, then every painful mile will be worth it.

Please support me in raising awareness and funds for stroke survivors and the families whose lives have been changed forever.

Whether you donate £1 or simply share this page, it truly means the world to us.

Thank you for helping me run for those who can’t. ❤️
