I joined #TeamStroke for the Great North Run 2025.
There are over 1.3 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.
We're here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

Wednesday 4th JunI’m running the Great North Run for the Stroke Association!
As a Jr sister working on a stroke ward, I see every day the life-changing impact that stroke can have—not just on individuals, but on their families too. I’m constantly inspired by the strength and determination of the patients I care for, and I want to do more to support them beyond the hospital walls.
That’s why I’m taking on the Great North Run this year. I’m running to raise vital funds for the Stroke Association, a charity that provides essential support for stroke survivors and helps fund research into prevention, treatment, and recovery.
