I'm taking part in the Great North Run 2027 with #TeamStroke
I've joined #TeamStroke for the Great North Run 2027.
There are over 1.4 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.
No survivor should have to face life after stroke without stroke support, providing consistent, tailored help on the long journey to recovery.
We work with the stroke community to ensure the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

Why I am running the GNR
Tuesday 29th SepI’m taking on the Great North Run and raising money for The Stroke Association, a charity that is particularly close to my heart.
I’m running in honour of my grandad, who sadly passed away from the after-effects of a stroke. His stroke left him without function on the entire left side of his body and had a huge impact on both him and our family.
Choosing to run for The Stroke Association is my way of doing something positive in his memory, while helping to raise awareness and money for a cause that has had such a personal impact on my family.
The Great North Run is going to be a challenge, but knowing that I’m doing it for my grandad and for others who have been affected by stroke will give me plenty of motivation along the way.
Any donation, big or small, would mean a lot to me and will help The Stroke Association continue supporting people and families affected by stroke.
Thank you so much for your support and here’s hoping I make it to the finish line! 🏃♀️❤️
