I'm taking part in the Great North Run 2026 as part of #TeamStroke

I joined #TeamStroke for the Great North Run 2026. My grandad passed away after a stroke, what will be 10 years ago at the time of the 2026 GNR, a lot of his life was spent up north (plus being a loyal Sunderland FC supporter)! and I have a lot of fond memories with him in the vicinity of where the GNR takes place.

There are over 1.4 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.

No survivor should have to face life after stroke without stroke support, providing consistent, tailored help on the long journey to recovery.

We work with the stroke community to ensure the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

After starting my running journey in October 2024, I am excited to take the next step with my good friends Chloe, Katy, and Jamie to complete my first half marathon after completing the York 10k in August 2025.
