We are taking part in the Great North Run 2026 as part of #TeamStroke

We have joined #TeamStroke for the Great North Run 2026.

Myself and my sister Ellis have joined #TeamStroke for the Great North Run 2026. Following the loss of our Wonderful Gran, Shirley in July 2024 after battling with the effects of a sudden stroke. 
There are over 1.4 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes. Something our family knows all too well. Along with our Gran, both of our Grandad’s Derek and Les suffered multiple strokes during their life times and had to learn to live with the effects for many of their final years with us. 
No survivor should have to face life after stroke without stroke support, providing consistent, tailored help on the long journey to recovery. We work with the stroke community to ensure the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.
