I joined #TeamStroke for the Great North Run 2026.

There are over 1.4 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.

No survivor should have to face life after stroke without stroke support, providing consistent, tailored help on the long journey to recovery.

We work with the stroke community to ensure the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

Why i’m doing the great north run

Friday 13th Mar

I’ve decided to do the Great North Run this year in memory of my amazing Granda who passed due to complications following a stroke in 2025. He was the bravest and strongest man i’ve ever known and fought so hard til the very end. He was my best friend and I miss him more and more every day. I decided to do the run for stroke association to raise money for people in the same situation that he was in and hopefully the money can do some good for them. I know he will be cheering me on the whole way. Love you Granda❤️
