On April 19th, I’ll be taking on the Manchester Marathon. A marathon is a massive physical challenge, but for stroke survivors, the 'marathon' begins the moment they wake up to the life-changing impact of a stroke. 

Strokes have impacted my own family and the families of my close friends, changing lives forever. The strength it takes to recover has inspired me to raise vital funds for the Stroke Association. 

Every day in the UK, 240 people have a stroke. The Stroke Association is the only UK charity providing lifelong support for survivors and their families, while also funding the research that leads to life-saving breakthroughs. 

Any donation, no matter the size, will provide the practical and emotional support someone needs to find their 'new normal'. Thank you so much for your support.

£10: Can help fund vital equipment for scientists working on life-saving research breakthroughs.

£45: Could pay for a call to the Stroke Support Helpline, providing emotional support and essential information to someone in crisis.

£80: Can pay for a survivor to attend a six-week computer course, a vital tool for regaining communication skills during recovery.

£150: Helps fund research into new treatments, such as the "clot-busting" drugs that have already transformed survival rates.

£300: Could allow a befriending volunteer to work with a survivor for a full year, helping them regain the confidence to do simple things like take the bus alone.

£1,300: Supports up to 1,000 people with aphasia (communication disability) via an accessible Aphasia Friendly Stroke Guide.
