Tokyo Marathon 2026

I'm taking part in the Tokyo Marathon 2026 as part of #TeamStroke

I joined #TeamStroke for the Tokyo Marathon 2026.

There are over 1.4 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.

You may wonder why that matters too me who lives in the US. First I recently ran the London Marathon and felt like I was right at home.  Also in this day and age, tests and treatments for stroke made by one country are often shared with other counties.  As a result I hope to support the UK who might find tests and treatments to help everyone.

We're here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

Why I'm running for the #TeamStroke

Friday 30th May

Next March 1, 2026, I'll be running the streets of Tokyo in my quest to fight heart disease and stroke. In case you don't know, this has been a personal goal of mine since losing my father in 2016 to a stroke. I'm sure you've seen the commercials on TV. For many people the first sign of a stroke is the stroke itself. Best I can tell that is what happened to my father. My hope is through my fundraising we can do more to help people before the stroke ever happens.

In addition, my brother's wife Agatha also lost her parents to heart disease and stroke. So as a result, I am raising funds for the #TeamStroke and will be running on their team come March 2026.
