TCS London Marathon 2025

I'm running my first marathon in 2025 as part of #TeamStroke

Hi,

In 2025, I will be running my first marathon and wanted to use the opportunity to raise money for an incredible charity, the Stroke Association.

As many of you may know, my family lost my Dad, Keith Ash, to a stroke in 2021.  As well as the pain of losing a loved one to stroke, it is really important to understand the life changing effect that it can have for survivors and the willpower and strength that it takes to rehabilitate from a stroke.  I would like to raise money for the Stroke Association for their important work in supporting Stroke survivors.

I joined #TeamStroke for the TCS London Marathon 2025.

There are over 1.3 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.

The Stroke Association are here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. They believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so they work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. They rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

Training begins

Saturday 30th Nov
It’s about 5 months until the London marathon and I have decided to start training early in case of any injuries or being delayed by a busy work schedule. I’m expecting a long and tough journey but, honestly, it will be nothing in comparison to the rehabilitation of stroke survivors who need incredible mental and physical strength to recover.
Through my training, I’m stepping out of my comfort zone by posting on social media and on to share information about stroke and stroke survivors regularly so that I am not only raising money but raising awareness.
Thank you to everyone who has donated so far!
