I'm taking part in the Royal Parks Half Marathon 2026 as part of #TeamStroke
After last years Royal Parks Half, i'm running it again, and this time for TeamStroke.
Back in 2022, life changed for our family. In May, Kim suffered a stroke while at work. She was rushed to hospital, and scans revealed a clot on the right side of her brain.
It was a terrifying time — not only for me, but also for our boys, who were just 7 and 11. Juggling hospital visits, school runs, and work while not knowing what the future held was overwhelming. Kim spent months in recovery, with regular physio and counselling.
She began to rebuild — regaining 90% of the feeling in her left side and slowly getting her independence back. She’s in a good place now, and I’ll always be grateful for how far she’s come.
With everything we had to go through, it feels only right that I run this race for the The Stroke Association — a charity that not only helped us but continues to help countless families every single day.
There are over 1.4 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.
