I'm taking part in the TCS London Marathon as part of #TeamStroke

I joined #TeamStroke for the TCS London Marathon 2025.

At the age of 28 I have suffered two strokes, of which one revealed a brain tumour. 

There are over 1.3 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.

We're here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

With the upmost honour I have been selected to run in the London Marathon 2025 raising money for a charity that has recently become so close to mine and my wife’s hearts. 

I am running for Stroke Association next year as I am officially a stroke survivor at just the age of 28 and I want to raise awareness that if something doest’t feel right for you, go and get it checked out. Only you know yourself the best. 

Earlier this year I had been experiencing constant headaches and head pressure and after pushing and pushing my GP, I was sent for a full days worth of testing which had showed I had suffered two strokes and as a result caused a brain tumour. 

I am now under the right team of specialists and a load of medication to help me with living the best life I can and to hopefully prevent future strokes.

 My main aim is to shout loud about strokes as people think the average age for strokes is from 70-90 years of age however the percentage has now raised from 10% to 15% and still rising in people aged under 45 having strokes. We need to be aware of the signs and save lives.
