We are taking part in the Edinburgh Marathon Festival 2026 as part of #TeamStroke

Grandad suffered a Haemorrhagic Stroke in October 2025 and was diagnosed with Aphasia, a neurological language disorder caused by brain damage, often as a result of stroke or injury. Aphasia affects a person's ability to speak, understand, read, and write, but it does not impact intelligence. He spent nine weeks in hospital receiving intensive rehabilitation and is now slowly recovering. Grandad continues to receive support at home through regular speech therapy and occupational therapy sessions.

Gran experienced a transient ischaemic attack (TIA) in January 2025 and was supported by a stroke nurse and physiotherapist during her recovery at home.

Myself and Mum are taking part in the Edinburgh Marathon Festival 2026 as part of #TeamStroke.We are both new to 5k walking/running, any donations would give us a real boost during training, helping to keep spirits high and motivation strong as we work towards our goal.
