I'm taking part in the Bath Half Marathon as part of #TeamStroke

I've joined #TeamStroke for the Bath Half Marathon 2026!

There are over 1.4 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year - which is one stroke every five minutes.

In April 2025, my mum was one of those.

And a few years before, my grandad.

Although both very lucky and physically fine now, the mental impact a stroke can have is something I wasn’t aware of until it happened to my family.

And frankly, our lives have changed drastically because of a stroke.

So I have chosen this charity to fundraise for a cause that is now closer to home, supporting people to rebuild their lives after stroke. They work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support, and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.
