I'm taking part in the Brighton Marathon as part of #TeamStroke
Earlier this year, my nan suffered a devastating stroke that completely changed her life. She was a proud, independent woman who loved doing everything for herself. Since her stroke, she now requires 24-hour care and has lost all of the independence she held so dearly. Watching her go through such a life-altering experience has been incredibly tough, for her and for our whole family.
That’s why I’ve joined #TeamStroke and will be running the Brighton Marathon in 2026. I'm doing this for my nan, and for the 1.4 million stroke survivors across the UK who are rebuilding their lives every single day.
Each year, around 100,000 strokes occur in the UK, that’s one every five minutes. Stroke Association is here to make sure no one has to face recovery alone. They support people to rebuild their lives, campaign for better stroke care, and fund crucial research into prevention and rehabilitation. But they can’t do it without support.
I’m running to raise money so that more people like my nan can get the care, support, and hope they need after stroke. If you’re able to donate or share this, it would truly mean the world to me and to so many others affected by stroke.
Let’s make every mile count 💜
