I'm taking part in the Great North Run 2027 with #TeamStroke

I've joined #TeamStroke for the Great North Run 2027.

Having worked with stroke survivors in hospital and in the community, I’ve seen first hand the long journey that leads to recovery and the support that this charity gives to stroke survivors and their families.

Working in stroke recovery has been a privilege. From celebrating the “small” milestones to comforting those who have realised that their life may not look how it did anymore, every moment of kindness can make the biggest impact on rehabilitation.

There are over 1.4 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.

No survivor should have to face life after stroke without stroke support, providing consistent, tailored help on the long journey to recovery.

The Stroke Association work with the stroke community to ensure the very best care and support. They rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.
