I'm taking part in the Chicago Marathon 2025 as part of #TeamStroke

I joined #TeamStroke for the Chicago Marathon 2025.

There are over 1.4 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.

As a stroke survivor, having had two strokes by the age of 30 years old, I appreciate that raising awareness is crucial. We're here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

I’m running the 2025 Chicago Marathon – not just for myself, but for every stroke survivor. 

When I was 13, I had a massive stroke and recovery was long and challenging. This year at the age of 30, I suffered a second stroke. 

I’m running for the Stroke Association, an incredible charity that supports people like me during the hardest moments of their lives. Their work saves lives and restores futures.

Running a marathon is a huge physical and mental challenge but I’m doing this to show that recovery is possible. That life after a stroke doesn’t have to mean limits.
