I'm taking part in the Great North Run 2026 as part of #TeamStroke
I joined #TeamStroke for the Great North Run 2026.
There are over 1.4 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.
No survivor should have to face life after stroke without stroke support, providing consistent, tailored help on the long journey to recovery.
We work with the stroke community to ensure the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

Why?
Monday 22nd Sep🏃♂️ This year, I’m running the Great North Run for Stroke Association, and it means more to me than I can put into words.
In 2023, both my grandparents suffered strokes just two months apart. My grandad’s happened in October while they were on holiday, and then my gran had hers on Boxing Day. We didn’t think she’d make it to 2024.
But she did. And every mile I run is for them, for their courage, their recovery, and for everyone affected by stroke. Stroke can change lives in an instant, and the support from Stroke Association helps people rebuild theirs.
