Hi. Buzby's wife here. Some of you will know Buz, but for those who don't...
Buzby is best known for being a crazy entertainer at Potters Resort, Norfolk and one of the nicest people you could ever meet. He has spent most of his life making people laugh, causing chaos and generally making everyone's life better. Whether it was running football tournaments for the kids, jumping out of a plane to raise money for charity or gardening for the elderly people of Hopton, Buz never, ever stopped or ran out of energy. He was a real life Peter Pan who never aged or ailed anything. 
Until 3 years ago. Whilst gardening Buz felt unwell and within minutes was unconscious on the floor.  The hospital told us that he'd had a massive bleed on his brain and things didn't look good. Day by day though, Buz got a little better and we became more hopeful that he would pull through, although we were warned he might never talk or walk again. 
After nearly 9 months in hospital Buz made it home! He still struggled to say more than a couple of words and couldn't stand without help but he was home.
3 years later, he can talk much better, although it's still hard for him. He can walk a short distance with a quad stick and a little help. He still has no movement in his right arm but is continuing with his physio and exercises. Buz is the strongest, most determined person I have ever met and he still manages to go to work and bring joy to the people he meets.
He is determined to help to raise awareness about the dangers of high blood pressure and stroke, which is why he is so thrilled to be taking part in the London Marathon. The Stroke Association help tens of thousands of Stroke Survivors to get the help they need and your donation could help someone like Buz, to get their life back on track. Obviously, he is unable to run the marathon, but with the help of our son, Connor, he will start and finish the race on foot, and the rest of the race will be in a wheelchair. However, he is determined to do the whole marathon before the day, so we are keeping track of how far he walks every week in the swimming pool and on exercise sessions.
