I'm running the Great North Run 2026 as part of #TeamStroke
I’m running the Great North Run for the Stroke Association for reasons close to me, having seen the impact of stroke both through my work and in my personal life.
Taking part in this event is my way of supporting a brilliant cause that helps people and families at their most difficult times.
In the UK alone, over 1.4 million people are living with the effects of stroke, with around 100,000 strokes occurring each year — that’s one every five minutes.
By working closely with the stroke community, the Stroke Association helps ensure the best possible care and support, funds research into prevention and rehabilitation, and campaigns for better stroke care. This vital work relies on support and fundraising, which is why this run means so much to me.
