I'm taking part in the Great North Run 2027 with #TeamStroke
I've joined #TeamStroke for the Great North Run 2027.
Back in January 2023, at the age of 24, I suffered a stroke whilst driving home from work. The next 72 hours were frantic and emotional for myself and my family. Thankfully, due to the excellent, fast care from the staff at NSEC Cramlington, I was given the best chance of making a full recovery, which I did. I was fortunate enough to be surrounded by my incredible family and friends, who supported me through my recovery and back to normality. I was back to work 2 months later, and on the path to finding the cause of the stroke.
Since then, the cause has been solved and I’ve took my health a lot more seriously, getting into far better shape. So now is the time to brave the run! Some people aren’t as ‘fortunate’ as I am though. It was a small stroke, and I certainly had age on my side! So I’m raising awareness (and hopefully a bit of money) for those in a similar, sometimes worse situation than I was in. Any donations, no matter how big or small, would be hugely appreciated! What a time to be alive! Thank you!!
