I'm taking part in the Great North Run 2026 as part of #TeamStroke
I chose to run for #TeamStroke for the Great North Run 2026 to raise awareness and to commemorate the memory of my beloved Granny Mary who I’m sure made an impact on everyone she came across. Throughout her life my granny found great pleasure in walking, her always give it an go attitude, is something our entire family carries with them everyday. She always put others before herself, so I am choosing to take on this challenge in an attempt to live up the legacy she left behind and carry on her spirit. Sadly in 2021 she passed away from an unexpected stroke which lead to a bleed on a brain. There are over 1.4 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year, that’s around one every five minutes. No survivor should have to face life after stroke without support, providing consistent, tailored help on the long journey to recovery. The Stroke Association work with the stroke community to ensure the very best care and support to survivors, family and all impacted. Stroke Association rely on support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments. Any support or donations would be greatly appreciated, no matter how big or small💜please give what you can to this worthy cause which is very close to my family’s heart💜🍀

Good Luck Abi xxxx
