Kath and Harry are taking part in the Great North Run 2026 as part of #TeamStroke
We have joined #TeamStroke for the Great North Run 2026. We are running in memory of Kath's mum and Harry's grandma, Sheila.
Sadly Sheila suffered a stroke, which had a profound impact on her life. We want to show our thanks to the Stroke Association for the invaluable work they do, and help people who are in a similar situation to Sheila and their families.
There are over 1.4 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.
No survivor should have to face life after stroke without stroke support, providing consistent, tailored help on the long journey to recovery.
We work with the stroke community to ensure the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.
