Why we're running for #TeamStroke!
We have joined #TeamStroke for the Great North Run 2026!
My dad suffered a stroke in September 2025. He was on a ventilator in the ICU for 7 weeks and eventually came home in January after a long 4 months in hospital. Since then, he is continuing to work towards recovery every day and I know he will be there to cheer us on at the finish line, almost exactly one year after his stroke.
After seeing the effects of a stroke firsthand, and coming close to losing my dad, I decided to sign up to run the Great North Run, and my best friend decided to join me and do the same. Neither of us are runners, but for such an important cause, we know the challenge will be worth it!
