I'm taking part in the TCS London Marathon as part of #TeamStroke

I joined #TeamStroke for the TCS London Marathon 2026.

Well, this is happening, London Marathon 2026!! Am I crazy?? Yes!😂Am I going to give it my best go and enjoy every second of it?? Yes🤩

In the spur of the moment I applied for a charity place with the stroke association again because it really is something that is close to my heart and I actually was lucky enough to get accepted! When it comes to it I would of been running properly for 2 years, never did I ever think I would be attempting to run 26 miles over a year ago, I would of literally laughed at anyone who said😂

As some of you may know my now 23 year old sister Hollie unfortunately had a stroke while she was on holiday in America in August 2023. It was something that we as a family never ever thought would happen as she is so young. It’s been nearly 2 years now, she had a long road of recovery but she is really doing amazing after many doctor and hospital appointments and she finally got the answers she needed as to what caused it and has had heart surgery to help prevent it from ever happening again! However she will be on medication for the rest of her life and it will be an event in her/our life’s as a family we will never forget!

Having a stroke at her age is very uncommon and she is one of the 1.3 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes and this is why I want to try and raise money for the stroke association as even that little bit of help will go towards helping people get the best support and care after a stroke and the association reply on our support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research for preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

Running really has changed my life in so many ways I didn’t think would be possible and I really want to challenge myself with the training and want to bring everyone on the ride with me!
